Today the Honourable Lynne Yelich, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, toured the construction currently underway at YWCA Vancouver’s Health & Fitness Centre. 

“Once complete, the new and improved facility will ensure that users have access to the modern and essential infrastructure they need today and in the future,” said Minister Yelich. “It is exciting to see that work is underway in communities like Vancouver, and that our Government’s Economic Action Plan is accomplishing its goals.”

Western Economic Diversification Canada has committed $463,830 for improvements to the Centre through the Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC) program, as part of Canada’s Economic Action Plan. Through building upgrades and a locker room expansion, the Centre will be able to accommodate more people each day, reduce its carbon footprint, increase operational efficiencies and create jobs for local workers.
